What effects can distress of the Limbic System have?

Mood: depression or exacerbation of depression,

Emotions: All the ones we do not generally like, worse pain

Short-term memory: forget names, objects, and such. "FOG", difficult to focus, drop things

Rage: anger issues, exacerbation of prior issues

Fear: Overwhelming anxiety, stress, and fear.

Dysfunction of biological rhythms: sleep disorders, hormonal failure, etc. as well as the Autonomic Nervous System

Let's look at the autonomic nervous system:

Dysfunction of the Autonomic Nervous System, which is controlled by the LIMBIC SYSTEM, can lead to all kinds of bodily distress that will make any pain disorder worse.

The sympathetic system extends into the upper and lower extremities and can play a role in painful conditions of the limbs, know as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) or more properly now known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Even cases where the classical CRPS signs are not seen can have a significant sympathetically driven pain.

Many of these Autonomic Nervous System effects are called Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Restless Leg Syndrome, Panic Attacks and Panic Disorder, and such.

An important side note!!

MANY PATIENTS NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY DON'T ALLOW DOCTORS AND OTHERS TO GIVE THEM DIAGNOSES AND OFFICIAL NAMES FOR SYMPTOMS, WHEN NEARLY ALL OF THE SYMPTOMS CAN BE EXPLAINED BY BIOLOGICAL SYSTEMS THAT ARE FUNCTIONING IN A DISTRESSED MANNER. THIS IS SOMETHING AKIN TO A CAR WITH A COMPUTER PROBLEM, AND TELLING THE MECHANIC YOUR CAR HAS AN IRRITABLE MUFFLER BECAUSE OF SPUTTERING. OBVIOUSLY, A CAR AND MUFFLER ARE EXTREMELY SIMPLISTIC SYSTEMS COMPARED WITH A HUMAN BODY, BUT THE POINT IS;

JUST BECAUSE WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE CAUSES OF SOME SYMPTOMS OR EVEN COLLECTIONS OF SYMPTOMS ARE IN NO WAY MERITS A PATIENT BEING LABELLED WITH A DIAGNOSIS FOR EACH SYMPTOM OR COLLECTION OF SYMPTOMS. WHO IS IT HELPING? DOES IT FILL SOME NEED BY PHYSICIANS TO ALWAYS KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON OR TO CATEGORIZE EVERYTHING. IF WE GIVE IT AN OFFICIAL SOUNDING NAME, DOES IT HELP US TO FEEL AS IF WE HAVE SUBJUGATED IT AND ARE NOT POWERLESS AFTER ALL?

I WOULD SUBMIT THAT THIS PRACTICE DOES MORE HARM THAN GOOD, FOR PATIENTS VIEW A DIAGNOSIS AS AN INDIVIDUAL DISEASE.

THE RESULT FOR THE PATIENT IS THAT A "DISEASE" OR "MULTIPLE DISEASES" HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO HIM/HER WITH THE EXPLANATION THAT "WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSES IT NOR DO WE KNOW HOW TO TREAT IT". THIS PRODUCES IN THE PATIENT A VICTIMIZING POSTURE AND LEADS TO HOPELESSNESS, BOTH OF WHICH ARE SO COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE. THEY INTERFERE WITH THE ABILITY OF THE PATIENT TO DEAL WITH THE SITUATION, AND SUCH FEELINGS LEAD TO POORER HEALTH ON MANY DIFFERENT LEVELS AND THROUGH DIFFERENT MECHANISMS.
